"The Host"

You all know how absolutely obsessed with the "Twilight" book series that Stephenie Meyer wrote. Well I found out that she was coming here to Portland on a tour with her new book "The Host" and I just had to go to this Book Signing (our ticket price also came with a copy of the book, which I would have bought anyways)!
It was so much fun! However, by the time we got there the only empty seats were in the far back of the balcony. We did not realize that it was first come first serve, we had tickets and they had seat numbers on them, but Oh well, we could still some what see her (she was like a little dot, see picture below). She talked for about 20 minutes about this book without spoiling it for those who had not read. She talked about her favorite literary couples, Mr. Darcey and Elizabeth, Romeo and Juliet, mostly classics. She even quoted "The Office" while she was talking it was hilarious. She seems very down to earth and humble. She also talked about "Twilight" (ahhh "Twilight") and Midnight Sun (Edwards view of "Twilight" ahhh Edward). She talked about how she writes. Basically, she said she does not care or worry about what people think she just writes what makes her happy. She said that she has actually started books and not finished them because she got bored.
Once she was done they told us how to line up to get our books signed. At this point they also said if you had any babies that you could get into this first line. So here we were in the back of the balcony and Lindsey Reynolds has her 2 week old baby girl Cassia so we were like okay I guess that's us. Little did we know that as we were coming down from the ramp she would be right there. So even though there was a line off to the side Stephenie said it was okay to just start with us. We were the very first people to get our books signed. She seemed really nice. However, I was so not prepared to meet or see her that all I did was spell my name for her and say thanks.

The group: Holly, Lindsey W., Me, Amy M., Amy J., and Lindsey R. (she was taking care of Cassia so she got cut off)
Me and Amy aren't we cute
Here is our view of Stephenie Meyer. Oh well.

Thanks Lindsey W. for this picture mine is so bad

Afterwards we went around the corner to Ben and Jerry's. We couldn't... well wouldn't go home yet it was way early. So here is a cute pic of Holly and Lindsey W.

Steve & Amy Visit

Steve and Amy joined us for a lovely visit a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time with them. Here's some pictures:

Ethan attempting to touch the worm.
The reaction when the worm quickly coiled up after being touched. We said that Ethan "tickled" the worm. He got a kick out of that.
A different perspective of the Multnomah Falls bridge. Almost tradition to bring visitors on a waterfall tour. It's fun.
Amy at the Horsetail Falls. Spring time is crazy there is so much water. It was so loud and so much mist/spray. This one is my favorite because you can go right to the water's edge. If it was a little warmer, it would have been perfect to wade into.

All of us a Bridal Veil Falls.
Another of Bridal Veil.
We like to hike down. For some reason throwing rocks and sticks into water is one of the greatest pass-time ever. I even got into it a little.

Aw, so cute.
My little family.

Ethan and Joshua sure loved the visit. Ethan still talks about Amy and Uncle Steve.

It was sure nice having them over. We're glad they made the trek.

Happy Anniversary Love!

The CourtingSadie's Dance
Will and I dated for 9 months during my Senior year in High School. Will then Left to serve a 2 yr mission in the South Korea. Yes I waited for him, but don't ask him that he will give you a different answer. Hey I was just checking!

The EngagementWill asked me to marry him October 31, 2000 ( I waited 8 months for him to ask me to marry him after he returned home from his mission. Then I made him wait 7 months so I could be married in the spring. I hate the cold). Yes Halloween we had a lovely some what cold dinner (it didn't matter we were to nervous to eat anyways) that included a cow running past (it was Halloween) at North Canyon Park. This park just happens to be where our love first started to bloom.

The Wedding

Will and I were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple for all time and eternity (I love the way that sounds) on May 16, 2001. Our reception was held at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Our cheeks hurt so bad from smiling so much that day.

Rhododendron Garden

This last weeks Mom and Me play group went to the beautiful Portland Rhododendron Garden. The Mom and Me group did this last year as well but, we got down poured on. Don't get me wrong we had fun last year running tree to tree for cover. But, this year it was a nice overcast day with no rain so we got to really enjoy the beauty of the garden. So here are some beautiful pictures of the garden. You can not take a bad picture there, it is so pretty.

This nice lady shared her Cheerios with the kids. They loved feeding the Geese.

Unfortunately this picture does not do justice for how cute and vivid the yellow goslings really were.

The Falls

Oregon's Beautiful Multnomah Falls!

One of our favorite things in Oregon is the beautiful water falls. Not to mention it is cheep entertainment. So it was the most beautiful day of the year so far mid 70s with Sun. Glorious SUN! That does not happen much around here. So we thought we would enjoy it and go for a little hike up to the falls . Well, everybody else had the same idea. But it was so worth the 20 minute wait just for a parking spot. Here are some random pictures of the our family and the waterfalls.

My boys love their super hero capes.

I saved my favorite for last. This is the first time we have been to the falls in the spring. I was amazed at how much water was coming down. It was awe inspiring!

Now moving on to

Later that Day

Joshua was showing us his amazing trick!

Now you see it

Now you don't!

He's so Silly!
